The youngster died from knife wounds after being fatally stabbed in south-east London on Monday evening. The Metropolitan police said officers rushed to Woolwich New Road, Greenwich, at 5.23pm, after receiving reports of a stabbing. They found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a knife wound and immediately provided first aid, while waiting for the arrival of paramedics.
Unfortunately, the teenager died at the scene at 6.08pm despite their best efforts to save him.
Next-of-kin have been informed, though he is yet to be formally identified.
Police later learned that another 15-year-old boy with a stab wound had turned up at a south London hospital for treatment.
The teenager’s injury is not believed to be life-threatening, the police said.
The boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
Superintendent Petra Lazar, of South East BCU, said: “It is shocking and extremely saddening that a teenage boy has lost his life as the result of knife crime.

A section 60 order, granting police additional stop and search powers, has been authorised for Woolwich Common, Woolwich Riverside and Glyndon wards until 10am on Tuesday.
