“Over the years, I’ve been drawn to performances like David Tennant in Des [which followed the story of serial killer Dennis Nilsen] and Maxine Peake [who played child killer Myra Hindley], and so I felt Maxine was a mountain to climb as a part, but wanted to see how I can push myself in a complex real-life role.”
Speaking about playing the role of Ian, Scott, who has appeared in Line of Duty added: “I discussed it with my family and the reassurance came from the team that the project was approached with such due diligence and care and towards the families of the victims.
“From an acting perspective, I looked through the history of actors that I respect and look up to and the performances they’ve given like David Tennant who played Dennis Nilsen.
“There’s a reason why these sorts of stories need to be told. It’s a reminder of the darkness in our society.”
