Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed when King Charles III will receive his coronation. The King succeeded Queen Elizabeth II on September 10, when officials with the Accession Council officially swore him in. The coronation will confirm his position in a lengthy ceremony as his mother did more than 70 years earlier, but unlike the funeral, the coronation will not give Britons a bank holiday off work.

Will King Charles’s coronation be a bank holiday?

The Royal Family has scheduled the coronation for a spring weekend in 2023.

May 6 is a Saturday, meaning Britons have the day to watch the ceremony unfold.

The Saturday will be the only full day most people can celebrate, with no planned bank holiday according to the Daily Mirror.

    More to follow.
