The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself is based on the book Half Bad by Sally Green and it follows Nathan Byrne (played by Jay Lycurgo). WARNING: THIS STORY CONTAINS SPOILERS

    What happens to Marcus Edge?

In the final episode of the series, Nathan’s sister Jessica (Isobel Jesper Jones) finally caught up with him and wanted to finish him off.

Elsewhere, Gabriel (Emilien Vekemans) was trying to figure out what he had been sent to do after having his brain wiped by Mercury (Róisín Murphy).

Annalise (Nadia Parkes), who had been travelling with Ceelia (Karen Connell) found her dad but Jessica had a shocking revelation for her.

Jessica wanted Soul (Paul Ready) to kill Annalise and take her power, but Annalise managed to run away as the Blood Witches raided Wolfhagen.

Nathan ended up seeing his father in the flesh for the first time as he escaped through the woods.

When he first ran into Marcus, Nathan seemed calm as his father told the story of how he met his mother.

He also said he had the ability to foresee how he died, and revealed he would not be killed by his own son that day.

Marcus had gained this power by ripping the heart from a witch who possessed the special ability and eating it.

After this, he gave Nathan, who transpired to be a Blood Witch, his own blood so that he would not die after his birthday.

Gabriel had tried to get the blood from Mercury, but the vile was broken after he was shot in the chest.

Elsewhere in the finale, Ceelia confronted Soul while Annalise confronted Jessica in two very tense one-on-one battles.

Annalise almost killed Jessica but could not go through with it, leaving Jessica to escape almost unscathed.

However, unfortunately, Soul ended up killing Ceelia when he bit her neck during a heartbreaking scene.

Meanwhile, as Nathan and Soul fought, Annalise knew she was the only one who could kill her father following the prophecy ‘his own blood will kill the wolf’.

The series ended with Jessica finding Mercury, who said she could help her get revenge on Nathan and Gabriel, which opens the series up for a second season.

The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself is on Netflix now.
