SAS Australia’s Heath Shaw quits before backflipping on his decision – only to then break down in tears and sensationally quit for a SECOND time

Heath Shaw sensationally quit SAS Australia twice during Monday’s episode.

The 35-year-old former AFL star first turned in his armband after struggling to carry a log up a hill with his fellow recruits.

After arriving five seconds too late, the recruits were forced to carry the log even further, at which stage Heath decided he’d had enough.

Ripping off his armband, Heath turned it over to chief instructor Ant Middleton and told him, ‘I’m done.’

‘For someone like me, if it’s a physical challenge and I have a little break, I can go again,’ he later confessed.

‘But if it gets to a point where I don’t have a break, the option to end it at that point is the hard and scary part.’

After taking a moment to compose himself, Heath decided he’d rejoin his fellow recruits, but not without a spray from the DS.

‘You do not f**king quit on your team! What I see in your eyes right now is what I wanted back there. Your anger isn’t with me, it’s with yourself!’ Ant shouted at him.

Back at base camp, Ant gathered the recruits in the courtyard and gave a heartfelt speech about how quitting on the battlefield isn’t an option.

Out of the running: As the other recruits returned to their dormitory, Heath remained, and for the second time that day, ripped off his armband and quit

‘No, it’s done. I know I’m empty…’ he told Ant, 41, before trailing off and breaking down.

As he wiped tears from his eyes, Heath concluded: ‘No, I’ve had a go. I can’t, honestly. That’s it.’

SAS Australia continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
