The warning in effect on Monday from 5pm reads: “A band of heavy rain, accompanied by strong and gusty winds, will move eastwards across Wales and southwest England into central and southern England this evening.
“0.8 to 1.2 inches (20mm to 30mm) of rain could fall in a few hours with as much as 1.6 to 2.4 inches (40mm to 50mm) in a few spots in southwest England, South Wales and also north-western parts of Wales.
“Western parts of the warning area, except northwest Wales, will become drier from the west through the evening.”
This warning impacts regions and local authorities in London, South East England, Wales, the West Midlands and the South West of England.
