Liverpool running out of time to act on four-man shortlist with two set to leave

Diogo Jota’s arrival last summer has already proven to be a coup with his immediate impact in front of goal.

The so-called mid-tier players are what Liverpool have targeted in the past, with Klopp turning them into world class superstars such as Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

But with little over a week left of the transfer window, Liverpool are at risk of being left behind in the transfer market.

Signing another forward capable of stepping in when goals are needed seems imperative after both Shaqiri and Divock Origi struggled to make an impact last year.

If an injury crisis strikes like it did last season with both Mane and Roberto Firmino suffering a goal drought, Liverpool’s title chances may disappear very quickly and they could even face another battle for a top-four finish.

That can all be avoided with more strength in depth and it’s up to Liverpool’s transfer officials to act now.
