Linda Robson admits she would spy on her children's dates… to the dismay of her fellow Loose Women

Linda Robson, 63, admitted on Loose Women on Friday that she would spy on her two children’s first dates to make sure they were safe.

She spoke candidly about the hypothetical situation of her worrying about her kids – Lauren, 38, Louis, 29, and Roberta, 25 – and a potential suitor, the Birds of a Feather actress declared: ‘I would follow them. 

The revelation came during a conversation where the panellists debated whether they would ‘turn detective’ if they were unsure about a friend’s partner.

Linda said: ‘I would sit in a corner and check there’s not a serial killer or something and I would be watching all of their drinks.’

Her co-panellist Jane Moore, 59, looked stunned as Linda continued: ‘I check on them already. If they said no, I would go anyway just to check they’re alright.’

It’s Linda’s grandchildren who have to watch out, however, now that their famous grandma said she will be ‘doing the exact same thing’ all over again with them.

Linda is often candid about her family on the show, as her latest revelation comes one month after she revealed daughter Lauren suffered from bulimia.

She went on to explain that Lauren’s nine-year-old daughter Lila had been labelled as ‘obese’ by a health professional as ‘her ribs weren’t showing’.

Linda’s comments were made when the panel discussed proposed plans to introduce the world’s first tax on sugary and salty food in Britain.

Linda, 63, told the panel: ‘My granddaughter, who is nine, Lauren got a phone call saying she was obese. She does gymnastics, she goes swimming. She is tiny…

‘And when Lauren rang them up – she was really upset Lauren, because Lauren had bulimia, so she didn’t want Lila to start worrying about weight or anything – they just said ”well, it’s her body mass index and you should be able to see children’s ribs”.’

It comes after it was reported that Sunetra Sarker, 48, and Katie Piper, 37, will be joining the ITV lunchtime show this autumn.

Sunetra currently stars on Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge while she is also known for her roles in Casualty and Brookside.

Media personality Katie has previously presented documentaries and has been a frequent Loose Women guest over the years.

The pair be co-hosting alongside the likes of Charlene White, 41, Coleen Nolan, 56, Stacey Solomon, 31, and Jane Moore, 59, according to The Sun.

Christine Lampard is also set to return to the series following her maternity leave with son Freddie, four months, however she is first filling in for Lorraine on her morning chat show during the presenter’s summer break.
