Home and Away cast are left shaken as a dead body washes up in Summer Bay in horror storyline

A shock death on Home and Away will send shockwaves throughout Summer Bay in an ‘unmissable week’ of drama.

In a new trailer for the Channel Seven soap, police officer Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) will investigate the discovery of a woman’s body after it was found washed up at the beach.

Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor) fears it is his sister Mackenzie (Emily Weir) after she admitted to him she had hit rock bottom following a devastating break-up with Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) and suffering an ectopic pregnancy.

A very concerned Dean tells Cash ‘he has a bad feeling’ about the discovery, sensing it could be his sister after she gatecrashed a house party at the Parata residence.

Meanwhile, Justin Morgan (James Stewart) faces troubles of his own after he is found by a new gym employee at the beach with bloodied hands.

In recent weeks, he has suffered from an addiction to painkillers, while his girlfriend Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou) is focused on tracking down con artist Susie McAllister (Bridie Carter), who scammed them out of their life savings.

Justin is later seen having stern words with gym manager Tane Parata (Ethan Browne), before he is arrested by Officer Newman at his home.

He is then put behind bars as his sister Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee) angrily tells him: ‘How could you do this?’

The trailer then cuts to Dean furiously saying that if the body discovered is his sister’s ‘it is your fault’ as potential suspects are shown, including Mackenzie’s ex-boyfriend Ari and a troubled Justin.

Concern: Among the people Dean is furious at over Mackenzie's disappearance is her ex-boyfriend Ari Parata (pictured, played by Rob Kipa-Williams)

While Mackenzie’s fate is unknown, actress Emily recently told Digital Spy of her character’s storyline: ‘There’s a pile-on of grief.’

‘There’s just all these catastrophic events that happen and the release from that pressure cooker bursts,’ she added.

‘She really goes into a downward spiral in which she self-destructs, pushes everyone close to her away and she really severs ties with many important relationships in her life because she doesn’t feel worthy and is in so much pain.’
