Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after sharing her cleaning tips and hacks on social media and TV. Now, she has over 4.1 million followers on Instagram and has authored several books. Fans of hers have gone on to create their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning tips and hacks.

Some of the groups have between 400,000 and 600,000 members, with hundreds of tips being posted each day.

On one such group, users shared the “best thing ever” for removing hair from carpets.

Known as a “portable lint remover” or “clothes fuzz shaver”, the reusable double-sided lint remover has garnered popularity on cleaning groups.

One social media user asked: “Does anyone have this? What do you think?”

Another individual said: “Best thing I’ve ever bought. Gets up so much hair.”

Another said: “Best thing ever. Use on all carpets and furniture.”

Another said: “Love mine, fab on the stairs where the vacuum can’t get into corners, in fact I got carried away I thought it was so good, hand and knees cleaning all upstairs!”

However, some cleaning fans have recommended not using it on sofas and clothes.

Another person commented: “Got mine today and it made a pull on my top. Think I’ll just use mine on carpets.”

Lint removers can be purchased on eBay for around £2.60 or from Amazon for around £5.

Amazon allows you to buy a packet of two for around £7.60.

Other users said using a window squeegee is just as effective for removing hair from carpets.

A cleaning fan said: “I brought one for a coat but used it on my stairs carpet as well.

“But if it’s for carpet then a squeegee works just as well.”
