Zoe Marshall reveals her son Fox, four, is still adapting to his newborn sister

Zoe and Benji Marshall welcomed their second child, a baby girl, named Ever J  earlier this month.    

And while the family are overjoyed, the new mum has revealed their son Fox is still adjusting to the new addition.

Posting to her Instagram on Monday, the podcast host said her four-year-old was ‘struggling’ with his new role as a big brother.

‘Reality check. Wowza Fox is struggling at times. Not directly at the baby, but irrationally at nothing in particular,’ she began. 

‘Which I can read as “this is all so new and different, I don’t know if I like it or how I fit anymore”. My heart aches for him and my patience is pushed to the brink,’ she added. 

‘Holding space for big feelings and welcoming them rather than distracting or reacting. De regulating our emotions to hold his – it really is doing a saints job,’ she added. 

‘We fail, we try, we fail and we try. But for sure the hardest part of becoming 4 has been Fox’s transition.’

She then closed her post by asking her almost 55,000 Instagram followers: ‘Please tell me what helped you? How long did this last?’  

Zoe and Benji announced the arrival of their baby girl on June 15.

Taking to Instagram at the time, Zoe shared a stunning set of black-and-white photos captured by Tash Whitty of Tash Whitty Photography while introducing daughter, Ever J Marshall.

Sharing a touching photo of her and Benji cradling Ever soon after the birth, Zoe said the new parents were ‘deeply in love’ with the new arrival. 

‘No words. Just her. Ever J Marshall born 15:15pm (3.15pm) on the 15th June. Truly, Madly, deeply in love,’ Zoe wrote.

Miracle of life: ‘No words. Just her. Ever J Marshall born 15:15pm (3.15pm) on the 15th June. Truly, Madly, deeply in love,’ Zoe wrote of the birth 

Benji also shared the happy news on his Instagram account as he called Ever ‘daddy’s girl’ while welcoming her to the world.  

‘Welcome to the world baby girl. Mum, Fox and I love you and can’t wait to give you the world,’ he began. 

‘I am already wrapped around your little finger. You are my everything.’

He went on to call Zoe ‘amazing’ and ‘the greatest’ following the birth. 

‘The way in which she brought you into this world without any self worry and sooooo unselfishly giving is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.’ 

He continued: ‘She was a Queen in childbirth. Your big brother Fox already loves you so much and is ready to look after you forever. You complete us baby.’
