Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.
Another Mrs Hinch fan replied: “Kitchen roll soaked in neat bleach, pack it and leave overnight, rinse machine once done.”
Another individual said: “Mine looked exactly the same as this.
“I used cotton wool soaked in bleach and left overnight, gone the next day.”
Another cleaning enthusiast said: “Kitchen paper soaked in a bleach solution.
“Lightly wring and pack around the seal. Works every time.”
One user suggested: “I used to use a white towel in my old machine, soaked in bleach and folded, so it laid along the seal.
“I would then use an old toothbrush to clean around the seal, then would wash the towel in the washing machine to clean it all. It worked well doing this.”
Another person said: “Put some kitchen roll in there and soak it with bleach and leave for a while even overnight.”
A user replied to this comment and said it “worked a treat” in her washing machine.
Other suggestions included using dishwasher tablets, mould and mildew spray, Elbow Grease and Dr Beckmann washing machine cleaner.
