The job working for the monarch is being advertised on the Royal Household website. The successful candidate can expect to earn a salary of £28,000 to £30,000.
The position is based at Buckingham Palace but the painter will work across London, according to the job advert.
It states: “Joining a small team that provide both internal and external redecoration services across various royal residences, you’ll make sure that all décor refurbishment and maintenance is completed to the highest level of finish.
“Covering a number of buildings across the London Estates, your workload will vary from minor repairs to complete room restorations.
“You’ll carry out inspections and identify rooms that need your attention, before making sure they are expertly renewed and fit for purpose.”
The advert highlights the incredible opportunity the role presents.
It says: “Working in such uniquely historic environments means you’ll have the opportunity to expand your existing skills. You’ll regularly handle specialist wall coverings, sign-writing and use specialist paint finishes, such as marbling and gilding.”
The successful candidate will also help prepare for royal functions.
The advert states: “Playing an essential part within the property team, you’ll also help solve day-to-day maintenance issues that arise, and assist with preparation work for state, ceremonial or official functions.

The royals are keen for someone with an eye for detail who has strong organisation and communication skills.
The advert adds: “Above all, you’re a natural team player with a flexible attitude to work, enabling you to rise to the variety of maintenance challenges that come your way.”

The successful candidate can also look forward to training and development, as well as a generous pension scheme.
The Queen has been based at Windsor Castle for much of the last year amid the pandemic.
The monarch left Buckingham Palace in March 2020 for her Berkshire residence.
