Window cleaning: Lynsey Crombie shares how to achieve a ‘streak-free’ finish

    Lynsey Crombie, also known as Lynsey Queen of Clean, is a cleaning sensation with over 240,000 followers on Instagram. The cleaning expert became well-known after sharing her simple, natural cleaning and tidying tips on social media and TV. She regularly appears on ITV’s This Morning and has authored several best-selling cleaning books.

    Today, for “Windows Wednesday”, Lynsey shared how she cleans her windows for a “streak-free” finish and how she cleans PVC.

    She said on her Instagram story: “After washing, grab your dry microfibre cloths for a dry, streak-free finish.

    “For white PVC, grab a cream cleaner to bring it back to bright white and remove any marks.”

    Lynsey used Cif’s Outdoor Multipurpose cream cleaner which can be used on UPVC, play equipment and garden furniture.

    Lynsey recommended using e-Cloth dusting gloves which are made of microfibre.

    The product claims to make “dusting easy and is perfect for dusting delicate items or wooden blinds”.

    Fans of cleaning expert Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, have also shared their window cleaning advice on social media after one enthusiast said she was struggling to get them “smear-free”.

    Mrs Hinch fans often share their cleaning tips and advice on social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying.

    Many users recommended using a window vac or Method’s glass cleaner.

    One user said: “Karcher window vac! Absolute game-changer for me.

    “I have terribly painful hands that cramp up when wiping or scrubbing.

    “Vac does it all for me. Gleaming windows with very little effort. I even use it on my hob and aquariums.”

    Another replied: “Method glass cleaner and e-cloth.”

    Another person replied: “Don’t clean them when the sun is shining on them, this tends to leave them smeared!”
