What should I expect on a weekend?
Builders are legally allowed to carry out work on a weekend but these hours are a lot shorter than those worked during the week.
On Saturdays and Sundays you should only expect to hear loud building noise between the hours of eight’o’clock in the morning and one’o’clock in the afternoon.
Bank holidays are a bonus for both the builders and the neighbours as no ‘noisy work’ is allowed at all on Sundays or bank holidays.
Although these are good guidelines, it is worth checking your Local Authority website as they can alter slightly, as evident in Cheshire East where builders can work between nine’o’clock in the morning and two’o’clock in the afternoon on weekends.
