West Ham United will make a late move to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline, according to reports. The Hammers are set to pursue a cut-price deal for Lingard in the closing hours of the summer transfer window.
Lingard missed Man United’s season opener against Leeds United but started the trips to Southampton and Wolves on the bench.
Last month, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed the 28-year-old wanted to fight for his place at Old Trafford, despite Jadon Sancho’s summer arrival.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s impending return may have changed Lingard’s stance, though, with game time now far less likely.
If the latest reports are to go by, West Ham look set to offer him regular football as deadline day approaches.

West Ham completed the £30m signing of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on Sunday, bolstering Moyes’ defensive options.
The club are also closing in on a £25m move for CSKA Moscow attacker Nikola Vlasic, which many presumed spelt the end of Lingard’s chances of returning.
But Moyes seemingly wants to add both players to his attack and improve the depth of his squad ahead of a long season.
The Hammers’ involvement in the Europa League will demand a bigger squad to protect Moyes’ top stars from injury.
