Food recalls are issued when there is a discovery made about a certain product which is deemed unsafe for consumers. The latest recall comes from supermarkets including Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
The Traditional Welsh Sausage Company, which is sold in various retailers, is recalling four date codes of their Edwards of Conwy Six Traditional Pork Sausages.
This is because they may contain gluten which is not declared on the packaging.
This makes it unsafe for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to gluten.
Although the use by dates have now passed, customers should also check their freezers too.
Use by dates:
– September 11, 2021
– September 12, 2021
– September 21, 2021
– September 25, 2021
Tesco said “do not eat” the product if you have an allergy or intolerance to gluten and customers should instead return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given.
No receipt is required when returning the sausages.
In other news, Deliveroo launched its first delivery-only grocery service yesterday, in its new partnership with Morrisons.
Deliveroo Hop, which has launched in Central London in partnership with supermarket giant Morrisons, will be available through the Deliveroo app.
The company claims the new service will offer customers grocery delivery in as little as 10 minutes.
Will Shu, CEO and Founder, Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo Hop will enhance our on-demand grocery offering for both consumers and our grocery partners.
“We are pleased to launch the service with Morrisons, one of our largest partners.”
