Viewers of Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell are left shocked by a full-frontal nudity on air

ABC viewers were left completely shocked on Wednesday night, while watching Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell.  

Despite airing in the 8:30pm time slot, there was a rather risqué moment that featured full-frontal nudity. 

As host Shaun was speaking to actor Francis Greenslade, who was in character as a defamation expert, a man popped out on set completely naked.

The gag came as Shaun and Francis were talking about defamation laws and when Shaun wanted to discuss the ABC’s censorship rules.   

‘Ita [Buttrose] wants to wind the segment up now,’ the naked man said as he popped out on stage. 

Fans had a mixed reaction to the gag and overall found it funny, but thought it was rather risky considering the early time slot of the show.

‘Ita wants to wind the segment up now,’ the naked man said as he popped out on stage, referring to ABC chairwoman Ita Buttrose

‘Lots of swearing. Fullo frontal nudity. Donald McEngadine. That ep of Mad as Hell was straight up FIYAH,’ one person tweeted, adding a flame emoji. 

Another added: ‘Brilliant show tonight, really needed that laugh, yeah and the naked man!’

‘Thought we had to get to 9pm before full male nudity?’ another remarked, while one said: ‘Omg! Casual nudity on Mad as Hell. Hehe.’

Shaun, 58, has hosted the popular ABC show since 2012 and is also known for hosting Talkin’ Bout Your Generation.

Ita, 79, was announced as the new chair of the ABC back in 2019. 

Meanwhile Michael Kroger, a Liberal Party powerbroker and former ABC boardmember, this week told Ita to resign during an outburst on Sky News this week and called her a ‘terrible failure’ because the broadcaster was anti-Liberal.
