ULEZ rules change 2025: Even electric car owners will have to pay charge

    However, from December 25, 2025 the cleaner vehicle discount will be scrapped, meaning all drivers will have to pay the daily charge in the capital.

    Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has widened the ULEZ zone so it will now stretch from the North Circular to the South Circular, but the ULEZ plan was first proposed by Boris Johnson during his tenure as London Mayor.

    Estimates say there are 138,000 non-compliant vehicles registered within the new ULEZ area.

    The ULEZ expansion means drivers of the “most pollutant” vehicles will have to pay a £12.50 daily charge for driving within London’s ULEZ.
