Tottenham had a successful summer transfer window under boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s guidance and could look to do the same again in January with the potential signing of Franck Kessie.
Kessie, 24, has announced himself as one of AC Milan’s star midfielders having joined from Atalanta in 2017.
The Ivorian midfielder registered the best season of his career thus far in 2020/21, scoring 13 goals in 37 Serie A games as the Rossoneri recorded a second-placed finish.
But with his contract up at the end of the summer, the San Siro-based outfit are scrambling to secure his signature for the long term.
With Moussa Sissoko joining Watford at the latter end of the transfer window, there is now a space for a midfielder in Nuno’s ranks.
And with Kessie’s future up in the air, Tottenham have been alerted to a potential situation which could lead to his signature in the near future.

Ndombele signed for Spurs in 2019, but has only featured in 54 of a possible 76 Premier League games after falling out of favour with ex-manager Jose Mourinho and now Nuno.
And with Kessie’s stock higher than ever, Spurs chiefs may be scrambling for a deal to bring the Ivorian to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Lilywhites are top of the Premier League after winning their first three games – but face a tough test away at Crystal Palace on Saturday as they look to continue their fine form.
