Tommy Fury is reportedly set to face Puerto Rican light-heavyweight Paul Bamba on the Floyd Mayweather vs Deji on November 13. TNT had initially been linked to a fight with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley but negotiations have since fallen through.
According to reports from Boxing Scene, Fury vs Bamba is being finalized for the event which takes place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai in two months’ time. Bamba (5-2) fights out of New York City but has spent the majority of his career competing in Mexico.
His two losses came to Abraham Velazquez Salazar (0-4) via knockout and Derrick Van (1-4) in a split decision defeat. Fury has been out of the ring since April when he beat Daniel Bocianski on his brother Tyson’s undercard.
Currently, 8-0, the 23-year-old is still chasing a fight with Jake Paul after two failed attempts at staging the grudge match.
Hopes of a third attempt at making the contest happen were raised after a video of both men talking about the fight over FaceTime was uploaded by The Problem Child’s promotional outfit Most Valuable Promotions. In the video Paul could be heard saying: “Tommy let’s make the fight happen buddy. Let’s make it happen.”
While Fury responded: “See you soon.”
