The Project hosts joke about actor Arnold Schwarzenegger's affair with maid

The hosts of The Sunday Project found themselves in conniptions while discussing Arnold Schwarzenegger this weekend. 

The show screened a segment in which the actor, 73, was interviewed by his daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, 31, in a video shared to Instagram. 

In the clip, Arnold revealed that he did not let the family’s maids clean up the children’s bedrooms, so they did their won chores.

Comedian Jan Fran was a guest on the show, and after the segment, she joked: ‘I like that he wouldn’t let housekeepers touch his children’s rooms, but very happy to let housekeepers touch him, though.’ 

Host Tommy Little added: ‘You reckon housekeepers were too busy cleaning up his stains?’ 

The comment had the other panelists in stitches, with co-host Lisa Wilkinson losing her grip and doubling over.

She joked that Tommy always got her into trouble when she talked to him, owing to his off-colour comments. 

The team were referring to Schwarzenegger’s former maid and ex-mistress Mildred Baena, 60, in 1996. 

It later emerged the star fathered a son, Joseph, now 23, with his housekeeper and kept it secret for 14 years.   

The revelation cost the Terminator star his marriage of 25 years to Maria Shriver.

In 2011, Schwarzenegger admitted to being Joseph’s father after being confronted by Shriver.   

The bodybuilder claimed he had no idea Joseph was his son until he was about 7 or 8 and began to resemble him, he told 60 Minutes in 2012.

‘You can’t go back – if I could, in reality, be Terminator, of course I would go back in time and would say, ‘Arnold… no,” he told Men’s Journal, adding: ‘You know, it’s always easy to be smart in hindsight. That’s not the way it works.’
