Sonia Kruger, Sam Armytage and Kate Waterhouse lead the stunning celebrity arrivals at The Everest race day for the first major event since Sydney’s lockdown restrictions eased

The stars stepped out in style for The Everest at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday.

It’s the first major celebrity event to be held in Sydney in months, following a lengthy lockdown period across the city.

Sonia Kruger led the pack in a conservative, soft pink off-the-shoulder frock that reached down to her ankles.

She painted her toenails with turquoise polish and accessorised with sunglasses, multiple bangles and bracelets on both wrists, a necklace, and a ring on each hand.

Never one to miss the races, Samantha Armytage was all smiles as she arrived with husband Richard Lavender.

The former Sunrise host was the picture of casual class in a slightly ruffled black dress that reached just below her knee.

She more pearl earrings and pinned her blonde hair back with a headband.

Meanwhile, Married At First Sight’s Jules Robinson put on a dazzling display in a blue lace dress with a doily inspired design.

She pinned her red hair back in a bun and topped it off with a blue bow that matched her dress.

Racing royalty Kate Waterhouse was elegant in a semi-sheer cream coloured frock from designer Scanlan Theodore.

The blogger carried a black Fendi clutch and added a pop of colour to her look with pale blue heels.

Organisers of The Everest have doubled down on banning the flesh-flashing frocks in a controversial move that has left Sydney fashionistas fuming.

The designs have actually been prohibited for years but the rules were rarely enforced. However, the Australian Turf Club has now made it clear rule-breaking will not be tolerated.

Former WAG Nadia Bartel controversially wore a white Dion Lee number with strategic cut-outs on the hips for Derby Day in 2019, and model Elyse Knowles flashed her stomach in a white two-piece outfit from Anna Quan at the same event.

But with the dress code being strictly enforced this year, both women would be denied entry if they tried to enter the members’ enclosure at Royal Randwick this weekend.

However, this rule does not apply to general admission areas.
