The tools are down on The Block as the renovation show creeps towards the auction and grand finale next week.
And the blockheads unveiled their front yards on Sunday’s episode.
Mitch and Mark won the Ford Puma car for the week by one point over Kirsty and Jesse, gaining 29-and-a-half points when the final scores were tallied.

Ronnie and Georgia Caceres were first to get their home inspected during their final time at The Block HQ for the teams.
The couple had the smallest backyard but the biggest front fence, and opted for modern cladding on the front of the house.
‘A modern masterpiece delivering a consistent message from front to back,’ Darren Palmer gushed over the property.

Judge Shaynna Blaze was not happy with how ‘exposed’ the frontage was with privacy being a bigger consideration and Neale Whittaker agreed with the criticism.
‘It’s not practical. You’re literally on display,’ Neale said, before offering a more complimentary take on the property.
‘[However] they have kept a signature that is theirs right to the end,’ he added.

All the judges were impressed with the beehive in the front garden and all agreed the facade definitely had street appeal.
Next was Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie who unveiled their frontage with the judges immediately impressed by the picket fence.
‘This is an absolute knockout,’ Shaynna said.

After: ‘They kept some nice period details in here and it’s not over the top,’ Neal said
Darren and Neale were thrilled with the seat in the front yard.
‘Creating this seat around [the tree] anchors it [and gets the entire family] involved out here,’ Darren said.
Neale was also blown away, adding: ‘[They] could not have done a better job. It is absolutely stunning. It just draws you in and it has created a sense of heritage.’

Looking good: ‘Simple, structural elegance,’ Shaynna said. ‘This is just so cool. These big slabs lead up beautifully to the entrance,’ Darren added, clearly impressed
Tanya and Vito Guccione put a hit and miss brick fence up with the judges impressed with the ‘mid-century’ feeling of the house.
‘They kept some nice period details in here and it’s not over the top,’ Neal said. ‘It’s got a nice reverence to the period.’
Shaynna was disappointed with plant selection, with the choices ‘not fitting with her’ which might explain the pair’s low score.

It’s a winner: The judges loved Kirsty and Jesse’s property, even calling it ‘suburban grandeur’ – saying it felt like a beautiful family home
‘That diagonal line is really successful,’ Darren said of the steps in the garden.
He felt the house was ‘visually interesting’ but did have faults.
The couple were pulled up for their ‘lack of budget’ in the garden.
Twins Josh and Luke Packham had a redeeming week with their architecturally designed steps and front door.
‘Simple, structural elegance,’ Shaynna said, before scoring the boys low.
‘This is just so cool. These big slabs lead up beautifully to the entrance,’ Darren added, clearly impressed.
The judges also liked the olive tree in the front yard. They were in agreement it was a ‘comeback’ for the twins.
The boys were upset over their house being called ‘rustic’ with the twins claiming they have the ‘best frontage appeal’ in the street.
‘I think what they have done is so close to being great, I think the buyer will see the great,’ Darren said.
Kirsty Lee Akers and Jesse Anderson impressed the judges with their focus on family.
‘To me this is selling that family dream every bit as much as Mitch and Mark’s house,’ Neale said, calling it ‘suburban grandeur.’
‘It offers you almost country style living, it’s extraordinary,’ he said.
The couple only narrowly missed out on winning the week.
‘I think this is the best house the block has ever delivered,’ Neale finished.
Ronnie and Georgia will pick the auction order for next week.
