The Bachelor has the LOWEST finale ratings in history as viewers tune out for Jimmy Nicholson’s big decision

We all knew it was coming.

The Bachelor delivered its lowest finale ratings in history on Thursday night, with just 629,000 metro viewers tuning in for the winner announcement.

While this was an increase from the 447,000 viewers for the penultimate episode on Wednesday, it was still a major disappointment for Channel 10.

Thursday’s ratings marked the latest in a series of disappointing milestones for the dating show that first debuted on the network in 2013.

Jimmy Nicholson’s season delivered the lowest-rated season ever, the worst launch ever and also the worst finale/final decision ever.

The season also recorded the lowest-rated single episode ever: episode three had less viewers than any episode of The Bachelor, Bachelorette or Bachelor in Paradise.

It comes after Daily Mail Australia revealed last month that Jimmy’s season of The Bachelor will almost certainly be the last.

Sources say Channel 10 has decided to cut the dating show from its 2022 schedule due to high production costs and underwhelming ratings.

It will most likely be replaced by another international dating franchise.

The Bachelor had its lowest-ever premiere ratings in July, with just 482,000 metro viewers tuning in for Jimmy’s first episode.

This number collapsed to a new record low of 360,000 a week later, following the start of the Tokyo Olympics on Seven.

Despite the disappointing numbers for The Bachelor, the 2021 season of The Bachelorette, starring Brooke Blurton, will still go ahead.
