The show will be filmed at a secret overseas destination.

The last season was shot in Newell Beach, Queensland, due to Covid restrictions.

Despite filming abroad, the production company has confirmed strict Covid-safe protocols will be implemented on set.

The announcement comes after Beau Ryan claimed he was earning a whopping $800,000 to host the series.

But when Beau, 36, revealed the number last February, there were some rumblings of doubt among media insiders concerning the eye-watering six-figure sum.

There is no suggestion Beau was being dishonest when he disclosed his pay on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

However, it seems unlikely $800,000 is his annual salary.

This figure is more likely his payment for a multi-year deal, which includes other duties at Channel 10 in addition to The Amazing Race.

TV Blackbox editor and former 10 executive Rob McKnight told Daily Mail Australia: ‘It would have to be a multi-year deal. That’s a lot of money for a show that rates under 600,000 [metro viewers].

‘The hosts of The Project would be on just over half of that and they work all year round.’

Mr McKnight noted that $800,000 per season would amount to ‘around $1.50 for every viewer watching the show’.

He added: ‘Beau’s great but I just can’t see how 10 could justify such a cost in this environment for a short-run show. We know the [former] MasterChef judges were on a motza, but they delivered ratings and had been doing it for a long time.’

David Knox, the editor of TV Tonight, also said in the comments section of his blog that a ‘three-year deal sounds closer to the money’.

Beau told Daily Mail Australia in a statement at the time: ‘It is ridiculous that everyone believes I get paid $800,000 for hosting The Amazing Race Australia.

‘Those who know me well know that I won’t get out of bed for anything less than $2million.’

‘When you are getting paid for something, you look at the hours… How long are we working here?’ he said.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands then asked: ‘Is that what you do? Do you look at that with The Amazing Race and consider how long [you’re away for]?’

‘Yeah… [I was away] for two and half to three months and I got paid $800,000,’ Beau revealed.
