The First Minister said the Scottish city could move down to Level 2 lockdown if more progress is made in curbing COVID-19. Ms Sturgeon explained that there is still concern about the Indian variant of the virus in Glasgow.
Level 3 restrictions mean people are not allowed to meet in each other’s homes, and pubs and restaurants cannot serve alcohol indoors.
Travel in and out of Glasgow is also heavily restricted.
Many business owners in the city have said they are struggling to survive after spending 270 days under tough restrictions.
They have also criticised the Scottish Government for not giving them more financial support.

Over the past few weeks mobile testing and vaccination centres have been set up in many parts of Glasgow.
COVID-19 case number shave risen by about 30 percent over the past week – from about 112 cases per 100,000 to about 136 per 100,000.
Ms Sturgeon said that although case levels are “uncomfortably high”, there are signs of progress.
The First Minister added that if cases continue to stabilise and hospitalisations remain stable, then experts would “support” a move to Level 2 from next Saturday.
Ms Sturgeon said a decision on the matter would be confirmed by Wednesday at the latest.
