Sophie Wessex says Royals ‘still a family no matter what happen' in fascinating chat

    The Queen’s daughter-in-law spoke with with Camilla Tominey of The Telegraph. She also touched on having a “lengthy chat” with Harry after the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral service in April.

    The 56-year-old said: “We are still a family no matter what happens, we always will be.”

    She added: “We’ve plodded along doing what we’re doing, hopefully doing it well. And then all of a sudden there’s a bit of a hiatus and things have changed a bit.

    “Naturally, the media are looking for people to fill the so-called void.”

    Sophie has been described as the Queen’s favourite daughter-in-law. They are understood to enjoy a very close bond.

    The Countess joins Her Majesty on car rides when she visits her rural homes.

    Ahead of Prince Philip’s funeral, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams spoke about the Queen and Sophie’s relationship.

    Mr Fitzwilliams labelled Sophie’s statement in regard to the Duke’s last moments as “most moving”.

    He told Express.co.uk: “Of all the statements put out by members of the royal family after Prince Philip’s death, the interview given by the Countess of Wessex was the most moving and emotional.
