Love Island star Sharon Gaffka appeared on Capital Xtra on Monday as she discussed her experience on the show after being dumped from the villa.
During her time on the island, the former civil servant, 25, was involved in a fiery clash with Hugo Hammond, 24, after he said he wasn’t attracted to ‘fake girls’.
Addressing the controversy that arose from the row, Sharon told radio host Will Njobvu that viewers ‘didn’t see everything’ as she admitted the row was about more than ‘just the comments’.

Sharon explained: ‘It was more than the comments made in the game, that really threw me off the edge a bit with those comments.’
‘You don’t get to see everything that happens and there’s more to that, when I brought it up to him.’
Sharon said that Hugo was making generalizations about girls with cosmetic surgery and that the negative connotations of the word ‘fake’ are what really bothered her.
She added: ‘It’s not his preference that’s the problem, it’s the negative connotations that he used. So, for me I have no issues with his preference, everyone has a preference in everything, that’s completely okay.
‘I basically just wanted to say to him, “be a bit careful with the language that you use”‘

During the heated episode of Love Island, the contestants had been playing a game in which they were asked to list their ‘turn offs’ in a partner.
After Hugo said ‘fake girls’, he incurred the wrath of Sharon as well as Faye Winter, who have both had boob jobs and lip fillers.
Hugo’s admission instantly ruffled feathers, not helped by him describing his ‘perfect type’ as: ‘Leggy blonde. Not fake.’
That word keeps getting thrown around, doesn’t it?’ Faye seethed.
Realising he’d upset some of the Islanders Hugo insisted: ‘I didn’t mean anything malicious did I?’
Sharon fumed: ‘I think I was just annoyed as a mate, I respect him enough to say to him, what you’re saying is upsetting me.’
Hugo later explained: ‘I just didn’t mean to upset anyone, that’s the last thing I wanted.’
He burst into tears over the upset caused, grovelling to Sharon and Faye later by the fire pit, who ended up forgiving him.

Continuing to discuss the incident a few weeks on, Sharon hinted that there may have been an underlying feud between Faye Winter and Hugo before this all happened.
Sharon said she’d ‘had enough’ of Hugo making comments about her close friend.
She was disappointed in the P.E. teacher about not bringing the subject up to him, saying that they were close and had an open friendship so she found it strange that the topic had never come up.
She had been very open and honest with her cosmetic procedures throughout her time in the villa, and the reasoning behind why she’d had them done.
Sharon concluded: ‘I wanted [cosmetic procedures] to feel confident about myself, and you shouldn’t make someone feel bad about wanting to do that essentially.’

She went on the interview to say that she thinks Hugo has liked Chloe Burrows since day one of the series.
When asked by Will if she saw any signs of Hugo wanting to be with Chloe she replied: ‘I knew Hugo was going to pick Chloe in that recoupling.’
She went on: ‘Yeah, I knew that if Toby picked Abi, Hugo would 100% pick Chloe, like no doubt in my head at all.
‘She is his type, leggy blonde, very intelligent, very out there so for me that is his type down to a T.’
Referring to the speech he made putting down Toby Aromolaran, Sharon said that she was surprised when he made it, but was not surprised when he coupled up with Chloe.

Meanwhile, on Monday night’s episode of Love Island, 12 new bombshells entered villa as Casa Amor week kicked off in style.
Jake Cornish encouraged the boys to ditch their partners for the new arrivals, he has so far stayed faithful to Nando’s waitress, Liberty Poole, who he’s been coupled up with since the beginning of the show and recently made things official with – asking her to be his girlfriend.
While Jake didn’t stray, the same couldn’t be said for other Islanders during Monday’s episode.
Liam Reardon’s head was quickly turned by ‘sexy’ newbie Lillie Haynes who gave him a lap dance, as well as Clarisse Juliette and Salma Naran who he had a three-way kiss with.

Teddy, who is currently coupled up with fiery character Faye Winter, felt ‘guilty’ for sharing a kiss with Mary.
In a more predictable turn of events, the episode also saw Toby Aromolaran playing the field with the new girls at Casa Amor.
