Suella Braverman reportedly leaked classified Government plans to draft new ‘Growth Visas’ in order to reduce the British deficit by £14billion, a report has claimed. Former Prime Minister Liz Truss drew up proposals for these visas to encourage highly skilled IT professionals, scientists and sports stars to come to the UK. However, according to the Sun, the Home Secretary was opposed to the idea.
Ms Braverman attempted to warn possible allies by drafting a secret email statement.
However, she accidentally forwarded it to a stranger.
While some news outlets have reported she resigned as a result of the mistake, others claim she was forced out for her blunder.
It is thought Ms Braverman, who is known for her tough stance on immigration, objected to the visa plan over fears it would lead to soaring migration figures.
Experts had previously stated it would help fill a £72billion hole in the deficit.
New Prime Minister Rishi Sunak controversially reappointed Ms Braverman less than a week after she stepped down, and is now facing fresh calls to fire her.
A source told The Sun: “Suella has tried to play down the scale of the cock-up but it was incendiary, market-sensitive information.”
There have also been claims that the Home Secretary has broken the ministerial code “multiple times” but refused to own up.
Earlier this year, she was supposedly involved with a leak concerning MI5, with Wrekin MP Mark Pritchard tweeting: “MI5 need to have confidence in the home secretary, whoever that might be.

“She then sought to copy in that individual’s wife and accidentally sent it to a staffer in parliament.
“To me that seems a really serious breach, especially when it was documents relating to cybersecurity, as I believe.
“For a home secretary to even have that nickname after a relatively short time in office says it all.”
Labour MP Chris Bryant said ministers told him she is “a threat to national security”.
