Sam Mac spots a very surprising figure in the background of a Sunrise interview

Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac had an awkward moment when he interviewed Aussies over 70 to mark International Day of Older Persons on Friday.

The trusty weatherman was speaking to 83-year-old podcast host Jasmine before he noticed a framed painting of a topless woman hanging on her wall in the background.

‘Good morning Jasmine, I must say, looking so glam this morning,’ Sam, 40, said. ‘You host podcasts, you do tarot readings, you do so many exciting things.’

‘I’ve just noticed the painting in the background, which we probably should have noticed before we were on air,’ he commented upon realising. ‘Too late now!’

The Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Doran could be heard chuckling in the background as Sam humourously pushed through the interview.

‘How good is zoom,’ he added.

Jasmine, unfazed by the weatherman’s reaction, went on to discuss breathing exercises. 

Last Friday, Sam trolled fill-in Sunrise host Doran during a live viewer quiz by asking viewers what Matt’s last name was.  

‘The male host of weekend Sunrise is Matt who?’ he asked viewers. 

After an awkward silence, where no one could provide an answer, Sam started laughing and screamed: ‘It happened again!’

‘Sorry I mean [the answer is] Matt Doran. He needs to work harder on that branding,’ the weatherman joked. 

Sunrise host Barr found the whole exchange hilarious and couldn’t contain her laughter at the desk. 

A clearly embarrassed Matt turned to her and asked: ‘Will you stop laughing at that, every time you celebrate.’

‘It happened again!’ The cheeky weatherman trolled the TV host during a live viewer quiz. Sam thought it was hilarious when he asked viewers what Matt’s last name is, but rather awkwardly, no one could give him the answer
