SAS Australia winner Sam Burgess is seen for the first time in Bangkok after joining his friend Russell Crowe in Thailand to work on his new film

    He’s one of rugby league’s all-time greats.

But Sam Burgess seems to have settled in nicely into his post-retirement career in the film industry – thanks to Hollywood superstar and South Sydney Rabbitohs co-owner Russell Crowe.

Crowe, 57, posted several photos on Twitter on Thursday from Bangkok, Thailand, where he is believed to be shooting a movie called The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

Burgess, 32, was visible the background of one of the pictures.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and a South Sydney Rabbitohs cap and face mask.

The Englishman had previously worked as an on-set driver for the upcoming thriller Poker Face, which Crowe directed, in Sydney.

While it’s unclear what Burgess’ job title is, he said earlier this week he wasn’t getting special treatment and was earning a ‘basic wage’.

‘I would love to say that I’m in front of camera, going down that line of being a movie star, but I’m not,’ Sam said on Sunrise.
