Sam Armytage 'busts' new husband Richard Lavender stealing her kitchen utensils to use in the shed

Former Sunrise host Sam Armytage married businessman Richard Lavender on New Year’s Eve, but it seems the honeymoon period is already over.

The 45-year-old scolded her husband on Wednesday after she ‘busted’ him taking one of her expensive Donna Hay spatulas to use as a painting tool in his shed.

She shared a photo to Instagram of the moment she caught the millionaire horse breeder, 60, in the act.

‘Busted. When you catch your husband headed for the shed, attempting to use your good Donna Hay spatula as a paint stirrer,’ Sam hilariously captioned her post, adding an eye-roll emoji. 

She added: ‘Don’t worry DH [Donna Hay], I saved it!’

A spatula from chef and author Donna Hay typically costs around $17.

Sam then posted some hilarious replies from angry wives sharing their own stories of their husbands taking kitchen utensils to use for maintenance around the house. 

Sam added in one of her posts: ‘I mean it’s not funny really… It’s ANNOYING.’

Sam and Richard are based at his sprawling 40-hectare property in the Southern Highlands.

‘And as a post script to all the “love” talk… Love means picking up your husband’s mandarin skin from whence he left it on the kitchen bench,’ she captioned the post.

The pair tied the knot on his property on New Year’s Eve, after announcing their engagement in June last year. 

The pair married at his home around midday, and then moved to a luncheon at the Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral. 

Sam has been settling into married life in recent months after leaving Sunrise in March.
