Roxy Jacenko has landed herself in hot water this week by promoting fur coats and jackets on Instagram.
The celebrity publicist, 41, provoked the ire of her fans on Thursday after she shared a photo gallery of herself modelling designs from luxury apparel brand Furella.
Roxy captioned the sponsored post: ”Trying some new @furella_official pieces on this morning – obsessed with the trench but also love the crop – thoughts?’

Her post sparked a some backlash, with followers accusing the blonde of ‘supporting animal cruelty’ and the ‘barbaric’ fur industry.
‘My thoughts are that the fur belongs to the animals it was stolen from,’ one follower raged.
Another agreed: ‘Please don’t support the cruel fur industry. You could opt for faux fur instead!’ as someone else added: ‘I’m so disappointed in Roxy. Why does anyone need real fur? Unfollowing’.

Many users argued that online influencers like Roxy have a responsibility to promote artificial fur as an alternative to the real thing.
‘It’s a shame someone with so many followers doesn’t do more to help steer people away from real fur products instead of promoting them,’ one user lamented.
A handful of animal welfare organisations also commented on the post, including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Australia, and World Animal Protection Australia.
