Roger Federer says it is not fair that he gets an extra days rest over his Wimbledon quarter-final opponent. The Swiss star booked his place in the last eight with a straight-sets victory over Lorenzo Sonego.
But his next opponents will have less rest as they will be made to continue their last-16 tie on Tuesday because of the rain.
Daniil Medvedev leads Hubert Hurkacz two sets to one but their court did not have a roof so they will have to continue their battle on Tuesday.
“You’re not happy about it, it’s not fair though but it’s how it goes,” Federer said. “These guys are young and they can recover, it’s not a problem for them.
“Unfortunately they’re very good too so hopefully it rains again tomorrow… I’m kidding.”
