    The glitzy opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures continued in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening with a premiere party attended by a starry guest list. 

    Stars Rebel Wilson and White Lotus actress Sydney Sweeney lead the glamorous arrivals on the red carpet. 

    Rebel, 41, continued to show off her incredible weight loss as she wowed in an elegant black evening gown. 

    Euphoria star Sydney, 24, was almost matching Rebel in another thigh-skimming ensemble – as she impressed with a chic black patterned long-sleeve outfit.

    Originally slated to open in 2017, the $484 Million museum was made possible by many high profile Hollywood donors who helped fund the first-ever space dedicated to all things movies.

    Screen legend Tom Hanks said recently that ‘t matters for Los Angeles to have this film museum,’ Hanks adding that it had been in talks for over 20 years.

    High profile donors for the museum include Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg and the Dolby Family.

    The space itself was designed by Renzo Piano and boasts four full floors of gallery space and two theaters inside.

    Among the legendary film touchstones on display are the Rosebud sled from Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane, Star Wars droids C-3P0 and R2-D2, the Mount Rushmore backdrop from Alfred Hitchcock’s North By Northwest, a full sized shark model from Jaws and Dorothy’s red slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

    Bill Kramer, the director and president of the Academy Museum, said in a statement to AP that the museum was ‘committed to celebrating and championing the work of film artists, scholars and professions through our exhibitions, screenings, programs, collections and now, through our annual gala.’

    The museum had originally been slated to open in 2017 but faced numerous construction delays.

    In November 2020, the museum announced that it had reached its $388 million pre-opening fundraising goal, and it is officially set to open to the public on September 30.

    Other notable attendees for the premiere party on Wednesday evening included RHOBH star Garcelle Beauvais and recording artist H.E.R. whom both stunned in all-white ensembles. 

    H.E.R – real name Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson – brought an elegance to the red carpet, and struck a series of poses on her way inside. 

    H.E.R. was on hand to co-host the event with Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, who looked dapper on the red carpet. 

    The duo are helping the museum open its doors to the public, alongwith Bill Kramer.
