Laura Armstrong says she was given a ticket after parking in her designated space in Diglis apartments, Worcester, in July. Laura said there was no mention of any need for permits in any lease agreements at Waterside apartments she signed.

She added that she couldn’t understand the need for the car park to be managed, since it was a gated residents’ car park, only accessible through a door fob.

Laura claimed that there were people constantly parking in residents’ spaces on the street.

She said: “If anywhere needs patrolling by a traffic warden, it’s there.

“Yet they send wardens into a gated underground car park which non-residents can’t access anyway to fine genuine permit holders.

Laura said: “They came back and said no, it wouldn’t be cancelled.

“It doesn’t matter if you can prove you have the right to park.

“It had just slipped off the dashboard – I thought they would be understanding as it was the first time it has ever happened, have a heart.

“The more I have talked to other residents about it, they say ‘this is what happens’.

Worcester News have reported on similar incidents in the past with Diglis apartments and PCM.

In February 2019, Tom Dennison was fined for parking his car in his designated space after he said his permit accidentally slid down off the dashboard.

After his appeal was denied, he was charged £60 for the infraction.

Parking Control Management (UK) Ltd were contacted for a comment.
