The Duke of Sussex is due to fly to the UK in July to attend the unveiling of a statue to his mother, Princess Diana. Meghan is expected to remain in their US home in Montecito with her new born baby and Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rocked the Royal Family to its core over the past few months with explosive revelations in interviews with Oprah Winfrey.

However, the Queen is by all accounts keen to let bygones be bygones, as she seeks to rebuild her relationship with Harry.

To that effect, the 95-year-old monarch has offered her grandson the chance to have a head-to-head with her over lunch at Windsor Castle, according to royal insiders.

A palaces source told the Daily Mail: “It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty.

“The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”

The invitation was made prior to the birth of Lilibet, the insider added.

The Duke, 36, and his brother Prince William, 38, are due to unveil their long awaited monument to their deceased mother on July 1.

‘Lilibet’ is the affectionate nickname that was given to the monarch by her grandfather George V, after she struggled to pronounce ‘Elizabeth’ as a child.

The British monarch was “aware” that Harry and Meghan would call their baby daughter Lilibet, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.
