King Charles III discussed with Prince Harry the issue of the royal titles of his children after Queen Elizabeth II’s death, it has been claimed. Archie Harrison, who is three, and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, aged one, automatically became Prince and Princess respectively as grandchildren of a monarch, on their grandfather’s accession to the throne.

The toddlers would also receive the HRH style along with the title, however, their names were not changed on the Royal Family’s website along with other changes to royals’ titles after the Queen’s death.

Prince William, who used to be addressed as the Duke of Cambridge, changed to reflect becoming Prince of Wales, Prince Harry’s children remained addressed as Master Archie and Miss Lilibet.

Royal Editor of the Sunday Times, Roya Nikka, claimed this came after a conversation the King had with Prince Harry.

She told the Daily Mirror’s Royal Beat podcast: “On the death of the Queen, Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, automatically as grandchildren of the sovereign, became HRH and Prince and Princess. So they’ve got that now, but they’ve not been updated on the royal website with their new titles. They are still ‘Master and Miss’.

Meghan claimed to Oprah Archie that was not given the title of prince because of his race. However, when Archie was born seventh in line to the throne in May 2019, he was too far down the line of succession to receive a title.

The duchess also accused an unnamed member of the Firm of making a racist remark about Archie’s skin tone before he was born.

Charles’s accession to the throne means Archie, who lives in California with Harry and Meghan and his one-year-old sister Lilibet, is technically now a prince.

But it has not been confirmed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or Buckingham Palace whether he will use the title of prince or whether Lili will use that of princess.
