Prince Harry hinted at his future daughter’s name choice back in 2019 during an interaction with a member of the public. When visiting Birkenhead on royal duty, Prince Harry spoke to a mother with a young daughter called Lili and expressed a fondness for the name. The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle welcomed their daughter, Lilibet Diana, last Friday.
Royal commentator Joe Drake relayed the interaction on Us Weekly and said, “Prince Harry hinted at liking the name Lili back in 2019.”
“They were visiting some schoolchildren in Birkhead and Harry was speaking to a mother who had a daughter named Lili and he was interacting with them, even asking how the little girl spells her name.”
“I think he was already leaving a little Easter egg hint that it was a name he was into.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Wirral, Birkhead in January 2019 whilst she was pregnant with their first-born Archie Harrison.

The couple welcomed their daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on Friday, June 4 at 11:40am.
She was born in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital near their home in Montecito, California and weighed 7lbs 11oz.
Named after both her great-grandmother the Queen and her grandmother Princess Diana, the name is a touching tribute to the Royal Family.
Lilibet was the childhood nickname of the Queen. As an infant, she was unable to pronounce the name Elizabeth, which led to her parents, King George VI and the Queen Mother, fondly calling her Lilibet.
A spokesperson for the couple said both mother and baby were “happy and well, and settling in at home”.
In a later announcement on their website Archewell, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thanked the public for their support and said that their baby daughter was “more than we could ever have imagined”.
A picture of the newborn is yet to be released but will most likely be taken in the privacy of the couple’s home.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are already parents to two-year-old Archie Harrison. During their interview with Oprah in March, they said that their daughter would complete the family and they would not be having any more children.
