A spokeswoman for Harry confirmed the Duke had arrived “safely” at his private residence Frogmore Cottage close to the Queen’s Windsor Castle home.

Under current Covid restrictions, Prince Harry must quarantine for 10 days, but can end his isolation early under the test to release scheme if coronavirus tests taken on day two and five are negative.

The Diana statue is set to be unveiled on July 1 by Harry and William.

The event next Thursday will mark the first time the brothers have seen each other face-to-face since the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, in April.

Experts previously debated whether Prince Harry would even return for the statue unveiling due to the rift created after his decision to step back as a senior member of the Royal family.

The brothers are expected to put their differences aside for the event on July 1, which will take place on what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday.

Due to Covid restrictions, the occasion is predicted to be greatly scaled back.

Kensington Palace has said guests at the event will be limited to the royal brothers and Diana’s close family – thought to be her siblings – and others involved in organising the event.

In a statement as the project was announced, the royal brothers said: “Our mother touched so many lives.

“We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.”
