The seven-year-old heir to the throne insisted on attending the big match as England went head to head with Germany in the Euro 2020 quarter-finals. However, George had a specific requirement. He “insisted on matching outfits” with the Duke of Cambridge.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told OK magazine that a friend of William’s explained the reason behind the Princes’ coordinated outfits.
“Prince William is George’s absolute hero,” Duncan told the publication.
“He thinks his dad’s the most perfect person on the planet.
“George idolises his dad. That’s why we saw him looking so smart in his suit – he really wanted to dress like William.”

“William would never have normally taken him to the football because it was an official outing in his role as president of the FA, but George absolutely begged to be allowed to come along,” Larcombe told OK magazine.
“Kate and William are at pains to never expose the children unnecessarily to the cameras but he twisted their arm eventually.
“That’s why Kate came, so that when William had to meet all the dignitaries, George could stay with her.”
The young Royal’s little siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, did not attend the game.
“He’s becoming a pretty big character and has both of his parents eating out of the palm of his hand,” Larcombe added of George.
Prince William attended the clash against Denmark on Wednesday alone as the Duchess of Cambridge is self-isolating at home after coming into contact with someone who tested positive.
