After being uncharacteristically quiet during the last few days on Instagram, Gemma Collins took to her stories on Tuesday to explain what was wrong.
Admitting she’s been suffering from a mystery illness over the past week, Gemma explained she’s been ‘very poorly’ and revealed a drip in her arm.
Gemma, 40, also had a private nurse at her home, looking after her.

She explained that she hasn’t wanted to make a big deal of feeling unwell, but added that it has ‘knocked her for six’ and that she has suffered from ‘some sort of virus’.
She posted on Instagram stories: ‘Sorry been quiet guys, I have been very poorly but I am feeling like I am back on the mend.
‘Thank you to my lovely private nurse Nena for helping me.’
Her father was also on hand to look after her, and ‘make tea’.

This follows a difficult time for the TOWIE personality, whose friend Rhys Alan Smith was found dead in Tenerife last month.
In a series of emotional Instagram posts shared last week, the reality star shared a glimpse of the flowers she’d purchased in honour of her late friend, and went onto reveal she spoke to him on the day he tragically died.
Gemma added that she would ‘give anything’ to have her friend Rhys at her side again, after he was found dead at his apartment on April 22.

Gemma shared a series of videos and snaps of Rhys during some of their happier times, including a sweet image alongside her parents Alan and Joan.
Posting the montage to her grid, the star wrote: ‘We all loved you so much ❤️ if anyone is touched by this story please remember there is always a way there is always an answer there is always hope tomorrow is always another day.’
On her Stories Gemma also shared a snap alongside her pal Rhys, admitting it was going to be a difficult day.

Posting a selfie with Rhys from a recent holiday, she wrote: ‘Going to be a very tough day my Gucci @rhysalan I have been heartbroken recently you was like a little brother to me.
‘I love you so much and I would given anything I have to magically bring you back. Everyone loved you and you was so special RIP I just can’t believe you are gone but never forgotten.’
Gemma also posted a video of Rhys during a night out together, where he attempted to show off his singing skills.

‘You was nothing but sunshine love and laughs I hope you find peace where you are and I will see you again one day.
‘I think of you all the time and I loved you so much. What I can’t get over is I spoke to you the same night you passed away, always in my heart forever and ever #mygucci.’

Gemma led the heartbreaking tributes to Rhys last month as she commented on the reality star’s last shared picture to Instagram on 3 April.
The TV personality penned: ‘My heart will never be the same I won’t ever be the same love you Reece,’ beneath a photo of herself planting a kiss on Rhys’ cheek.
A source close to Rhys’ ex Harry told OK! at the time: ‘Harry’s absolutely devastated to hear that Rhys has died. It has come as such a huge shock to him. He’s been crying all day.’
While they added that Harry’s cousin, Amy Childs, is also heartbroken, they continued: ‘She is so shocked, she couldn’t believe it when she heard the news.
‘She’s been trying to comfort Harry, but he is inconsolable. It’s just so, so sad.’

Police sources in Tenerife confirmed last month that officers had been called to an address in Granadilla de Abona in the early hours of April 22, where Rhys was found dead.
It’s thought that Rhys’ death is not being treated as suspicious by police.
He’d previously starred on TOWIE alongside his ex-boyfriend Harry Derbridge , who eventually went onto date Bobby Norris.
After his death Harry penned a heartfelt post to his ex-boyfriend alongside a series of photographs of the pair together.
Alongside three photos, Harry penned: ‘I can’t believe I’m even writing this. Rhys was such a big part of my life and I will never forget the memories we shared together.
‘He was the most caring and thoughtful man and this news has truly broken my heart.
‘My thoughts right now are with he’s family, mum, brother, sister, nieces, nephews, Nan and all he’s friends. I still can’t believe this is true. RIP Rhys, I will never forget you. (sic)’
