Petrol crisis: Areas worst impacted by petrol shortage – is yours one?

    Petrol and diesel shortages have been frustrating many motorists around the UK. But some areas have been more badly affected than others. While the situation may be improving in some areas other are still suffering from shortages. Is your area affected?

    Boris Johnson has assured the public that the crisis is improving.

    But despite the PM’s assurances, many forecourts are still experiencing crippling fuel shortages.

    The average level for fuel at forecourts is usually 43 percent.

    But for three consecutive days, average fuel levels have remained at just 20 percent across the country.

    This means fuel levels at forecourts continues to be less than 20 percent.

    Where are supplies improving?

    The petrol crisis may be ongoing but some areas of the country are seeing supplies start to return to normal.

    The Whitehall analysis has found the situation is improving in the following areas:

    • North East
    • Yorkshire and Humber
    • Wales

    Despite his assurances, fuel shortages are still commonplace across the UK.

    The Chairman of the Petrol Retailer Association, Brian Madderson, has said there are no signs of improvement in fuel supplies.

    He told the BBC despite calls for Brits to stop panic buying the surge in demand “appears to be continuing.”

    He added: There’s been no easing off of the pressure from drivers wanting to refuel whenever they can, wherever they can.”
