The Duchess of Cambridge has made no attempts to upstage her husband Prince William and has stayed grounded, royal commentators have noted. Royal author Christopher Wilson said Kate is “not over-awed” by royal life.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he added: “What Kate has managed to achieve – and I think in a better way than Princess Diana did – is to combine magic with retaining a sense of the ordinary.
“Diana went off the scale of stardom and disappeared into the stratosphere.
“Kate has kept her feet on the ground, coming from this determinedly middle-class family, which has in turn helped to ground William too. Their marriage is strong because of that.”
Mr Wilson highlighted how there is no jealousy between the Cambridges, unlike Prince Charles’ relationship with Princess Diana.

After Prince Philip’s funeral in April, Kate was seen talking to Harry as the royals left St George’s Chapel.
William and Kate then walked either side of the Duke of Sussex before the Duchess broke away appearing to let the brothers chat alone.
Royal expert Camilla Tominey added how Kate’s role as wife and mother of the future kings is crucial.
Writing for the Telegraph, she said: “Her skilful handling of royal crises in recent months suggests that she is fast emerging as the jewel in the monarchy’s crown.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have three children together – Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three.
