The 95-year-old is understood to be keen to conduct more public duties after being confined to a limited number of engagements for the past 14 months. Her Majesty had been shielding at Windsor Castle for much of the coronavirus pandemic, but that did not stop her from serving the nation as she mastered the art of virtual meetings.
But, the longest-reigning Monarch wants step out from behind the computer screen and back on her feet to meet people in-person, according to royal sources.
They told the Daily Telegraph: “There is a strong desire from Her Majesty to get back out and about.”
A number of high profile engagements have already been pencilled-in the royal diary – beginning next month.
Leaders from around the world will arrive in Cornwall for the G7 summit on June 11.
Plans are in place for the Queen to meet US President Joe Biden, according to reports.
The UK will be Mr Biden’s first overseas trip since he won the presidential election and the White House is briefing the 78-year-old for a face-to-face meeting with the head-of-state, CNN reports.
In her historic reign, the Queen has met 14 US leaders – including Donald Trump during his state visit in June 2019.
She also had a chance to meet some of the 1,700 personnel on board the carrier which include Royal Navy sailors, Royal Air Force airmen and women, Royal Marines, and 250 US personnel.
The £3billion vessel has eight RAF F35B stealth fighter jets on board, along with six Royal Navy ships, a submarine, 14 naval helicopters and a company of Royal Marines.
HMS Queen Elizabeth will cover 26,000 miles over 28 weeks as it travels through the Mediterranean to the Red Sea into the Gulf of Aden to the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean to the Philippine Sea.
