Maxisaver was introduced to the British high street last summer to rival Poundstretcher. The shop offers various different products including food and drink, household items, cleaning products, and stationery.
However, Maxisaver has a long way to go as there are currently 450 Poundstretcher stores in the UK.
The eight Maxisaver shops already open across the country are in Hinckley, Erdington, Stourbridge, Melton Mowbray, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Dudley, and Newark.
The company is currently looking for locations to set up its next 20 stores.
It ideally wants to expand in the Midlands.
In other budget discounter news, Poundland has begun the trial of its online shop for some customers in England.
The company has launched its own website to deliver general merchandise, including food and drink, to customers.
However, the online service is currently available only to shoppers in some areas of England.
The selected postcode areas are in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Derby, Dudley, and Stoke on Trent.
