Limescale can build up in areas such as the kettle, sinks, toilets and taps. It is caused by a build-up of calcium and magnesium minerals in hard water and is often extremely hard to get rid of. However, one cleaning fan has shared a cleaning tip using a 2p coin.

The £1 cleaning spray claims to remove hard water marks as well as dissolving limescale.

Its formula helps avoid watermarks and prevent limescale while caring for the surface it works on.

Gentle enough to use every day, Viakal can be used in the bathroom as well as the kitchen.

Another person agreed and said: “Yes use a 2p coin! Use the edge to scrape and it’ll come right off, it seems weird but it honestly works so well, I love it.

It is a tough cleaning paste which claims to be gentle on surfaces but tough on stains.

Ideal for cleaning saucepans, glass, rust, paintwork and copper, it is a great all round cream cleaner.

Another agreed and wrote: “Leave it one or at least 20 minute before scrubbing it off with a Scrub Daddy cleaning sponge.

“I find that to be the best sponge to use in the bathroom but you might be able to use something else.”

The Scrub Daddy sponge is a textured cleaning sponge in the shape of a smiley face, a firm favourite for Mrs Hinch.

It can be purchased from various retailers for as little as £1.79.

One comment read: “I do like using my Scrub Daddy but make sure it is wet enough otherwise it could scratch the stainless steel.”
