    To remove the tomatoes from the ground, he just needed to untangle them from the string he grew them up.

    He said: “The reason why I want to take them out with such urgency is because I want to use the space.

    “If you’ve got a greenhouse and you’ve got a bed in the greenhouse you want to make the most of it.

    “Once these are out I can dig it over, add a little bit of compost to freshen it up and then plant out the rocket seedlings and the mitsuna and the mustard which off give us salads right through winter.”

    Later in the show, Monty started work revamping the writing garden and planted crocus bulbs.
