In an interview with Channel Seven last year, the indigenous beauty explained: ‘I still can’t believe that I’ve been singled out about my culture and my race.

‘I’ve been told that I’m a token Aboriginal model, and that I’m only a model because I’m Aboriginal,’ she said.

Sam added: ‘Racism is still very loud and dominant in the country and in the world. It’s heartbreaking that it’s still happening to this day.

‘It’s 2020 – why is racism still happening? It just breaks my heart. It has affected me and it really upsets me that it’s still happening.

‘This happened to my mum when she was growing up. For people to single you out, and single a race out, it’s not right.
